Ok so i got a visa card about 2 weeks ago, the ones you have to put money in. So today i got a call and they told me that i got a free 1,000 dollar Visa card. they said because i had a good something with the publishers? i didnt really understand but thats what the guy said and that im going to receive a free 1000 dollar visa card in the mail, and its all free but if i went over the limit, over the 1,000 dollars they will start charging me. Has anyone gotten a call like this? What do you think?

  1. don't do it man it sound like a scam

  2. When you get a new card or apply for credit it often triggers a bunch of spam calls.  If you doubt the validity of these callers ask them if there's a number where you can call them back.  If there isn't it's a scam.   Usually when something sounds too good to be true it is.  Also, if you just got a visa you don't need another one.

  3. IT'S A SCAM. DO NOT DO NOT I MEAN DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFO TO THEM.

  4. It sounds like a scam.  If you actually receive anything, read everything to see what the "gotcha" is.  If you don't understand what you are reading, find someone who can read it and explain it to you.  Don't use it without a clear understanding of what you are getting into.

  5. Most people do get the telephone offers. Beware of higher interest rates, higher penalties.  Get Visa, only if you must and then go through your OWN bank.
