I was playing a joke on my girlfriend when I went to pick her up from work one day by parking feet away from the door. The cops evidently saw it and came to investigate. They cited me for disorderly conduct, which I'll admit, what I did was stupid. However, in the statement on the citation I received in the mail, they said I was doing donuts in the parking lot, then proceeded to park against the doors, which isn't what happened. What should I do?

  1. Was anyone with you?  If not, I would just appear in court on the day you are suppose to.  Talk to the judge...tell her what you have told everyone here.  Its not going to hurt anything.

  2. If you plead not guilty and go to court it is your word against the officer's.

  3. you need some advice on how to work the court. it has its own rules. some advice are in the links on the blog spot below

  4. Tell the truth! See who the Judge believes!!!

  5. you will have your day infront of the judge.  once the citation has been issued it is entirely up to the courts

  6. Start lining up evidence for your defense.

Go find witnesses that will testify that you were not doing donuts in the parking lot.

Go take pictures of the parking lot.  Make sure the pictures show the absence of circular tire marks.

  7. Well if the deal in the parking lot didnt take place i would go back to the work place of your girlfriend and get a written statement of people that were there and saw what happened-saying you didnt drive like that. You might be able to get those statements admitted into court if they try to charge you with anything that has to deal with you "spinning donuts" in the parking lot.
