Its been 3 weeks and NO contract.

Im not starting until mid-september, but ive emailed them to no reply yet anyway!

Is this normal and what should I do?

Thanks in advance.

  1. Three weeks is a long time.

You need to call them up and bring to their attention that you have not yet recieved a contract.

  2. Larger companies are usually slower and work totally within THEIR timelines.  It may be legit.   Or the person who promised you a job may not have had authorization to offer it. There could be tons of reasons, but why waste your time on the "WHAT IF'$"?

If you get within 3 weeks of starting the job without the contract, I'd call their bluff and tell them you need an answer for another possible opportunity but that your loyalty is to them if in fact they can provide the contract. If they don't reply or conform, do you really want to work there? In the meantime (NOW), I'd be looking for another position "just in case".  No contract equals no promise.  Don't waste your time if the people in charge aren't concerned about being professional.  What do you have to loose??  If no position transpires, you'll not feel used for waiting on them and your self esteem will be better for taking the bull by the horns.  Business 101, Baby.

(The fact that you've asked this question shows you have lots of good sense...go with your instincts of "this isn't right" and move on it)

    Good luck.

  3. Just keep calling them up and ask them what's going on otherwise get another job
