  1. I'm sorry but you're screwed. That was so obviously a scam. People don't just send out 75,000 checks for nothing.

  2. Not sure what else you did.  It obviously was a scam, no one give something for nothing.  These people play on peoples desires.  Did you have to give them you account numbers?  I bet you were suppose to cash the 3100 and send them 3100 or some amount to cover some form of fee.

I would talk to you bank, let them know, it is probably too late for whatever you lost.

  3. You've been had royally. Have you never heard of this type scam before?? If you won, why would they want any part of this back, think about it. And yes, it was foolish of the bank to even cash it. Nowadays anyone with an fairly expensive fancy printer, can print real authentic looking checks. Sorry to hear about your loss of $$, but treat it as an expensive lesson learned. Don't fall for it again. Good Luck w/ your bank.

  4. its a scam, even some banks will tell you it looks legit, but they know the scam, the first person you should have called was the police.

  5. ABOUT ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: THE CHECK ONLY LOOKED LIKE A REAL WELLS FARGO CHECK. THAT IS PART OF THE SCAM. THERE WERE NO FUNDS TO BACK IT UP. ANYONE COULD WRITE A CHECK. YOU COULD WRITE ONE FOR $1000000 AND IT WOULD LOOK REAL BUT BE BAD.

Go to the police but it mightn't do you any good. This is a scam of the type known as a 'Nigerian scam', because they were the first to try this sort of thing. At least you had a phone number and if it is not an international number they may be able to track them down. But your money is gone for good. How could you have thought you could have won money when you didn't enter a lottery or contest? Genuine lotteries etc. don't get people to pay them first. They prey on gullible people and don't care you are out of pocket as long as they get rich.

  6. hahahahahahahaha. Boy you just can't cheat people enough.

  7. Well that was a SCAM obviously and the culprits probably got your bank number and if they do wouldn't suprise me if they were wiring money out of your account as we speak. Also they are probably over-seas or across the border and if thats the case then you can't do much about it I know this because I was sent a fake check that said i won $350,000 in the canadian lottery and I was like wtf I'm in the US but I decided to look into it anyways and we did the people that supposebly sponsored the foundation that was providing the check had no idea about it and we tryed conacting the Canadian police and they have done nothing at all, apparently the men behind it have done it to many people and they don't really care about it. Best of luck though.

  8. You just don't try cashing or depositing checks like that. Anybody can print fake checks. Its not hard.

  9. That is a very old scam. Hard to believe that people still fall for it. Now the crooks have your bank account number. Good work.
