I got a new HD TV but?

I have the HD TV but all I have is Shaw Digital Cable not HD. Will I still be able to watch TV? I was told you just won't utilize the features of having an HD ex : the perfect picture.

  1. You'll be able to watch SD TV. Be prepared for the problem that SD TV on an HDTV does not look as good as on an an SD TV of comparable size. You'll probably have to sit further back than normal to get a decent picture.


  2. You have a television that is cable of playing HD (thus I assume at 1080 or better.

    I had a similiar problem and was trying to figure out why I was not getting a better picture with this LCD TV that was 1080i. I started looking at the cable companies website and realized that I had to upgrade my cable box and cable plan. I did this and obtain the upgrade box and HD channels. I have been enjoying the pleasure of watching HD from that point on.

    Check with you cable company first - I assume the company is Shaw Digital Cable to see what HD channels they offer and what do you need to obtain them.

  3. 1. Make sure that your TV have a HD tuner.

    2. Order a cable package that includes HD programs. Or if you are in a big city, buy a HD  antenna.

    3. Hook up your TV to cable or antenna, and re-set your TV.

    4. You should find some HD programs and enjoy super-clear picture.

  4. yes you will be able to watch tv, But by law in February 2009 all american tv stations will only transmit in HD.
