I got a notice from the irs that my rebate check would be mailed out on the 27 th of june should i have got it

  1. Was your notice forwarded to you (with the yellow label), or was it actually addressed to the new address? If the former, the USPS will probably not forward the check. Rather, it will be returned to the IRS and reissued once your new address shows up in the system. If the latter, then it should come to the new address.


  2. If you owe any government debt then your rebate will be offset to your debt.  Whether you owe or don't IRS is required to send you a letter letting you know how much you qualify for.

    If you don't receive your rebate within 6 weeks then call IRS.

  3. Yes, if your payment wasn't offset for something like back taxes, overdue child support or defaulted student loans, you should have gotten it by now - that's an awfully long time for something to be in the mail.  If you moved, does the IRS have your new address?

    No point in calling yet, they say call if you don't have it in 4-6 weeks.
