  1. They might be able to get ahold of you in your home province, and by then the price would have tripled or more.

Or, if you're American:  It might show up the next time you cross the border, if they take it that far.  Which I think they legally can.

  2. Avoid the draft and stay out of Canada.

  3. If they weren't able to "track" people who's license plate is not from Quebec, they wouldn't waste their time (and every tourist could do whatever they want). I think you'll probably get a letter at your place telling you to pay (or present yourself to the court to contest your ticket..)

Either way, not a good idea ;) Pay it and clear that out of your mind ;)

  4. If you ever plan to come into Canada again in the future, pay the ticket. Unpaid tickets will grow in penalties and can result in:

    - impounding of the vehicle in question if it ever returns.

    - a warrant for your detention for outstanding fines.

    - notification of your state DMV or insurance, in certain cases (example: New York state used to have an agreement to process tickets from Ontario or Quebec, and demerits received in Canada would be added to your license in USA)

In 10-12 years, when you come back to Canada because of a conference, a sales meeting, or visit a sick or dying relative, you don't want to be turned away, arrested at the border, or be forced to pay some $1000 fine for a ticket that was $70 to begin with!

  5. well not sure , they might still try to get your money or send it to collection maybe . or might not bother its hard to tell.

  6. If you are Canadian it will probably show up when you go to renew your driver's licence or your registration for your vehicle, and you will have to pay it then.  I don't think anything else would happen.  If you live in Quebec, they might track you down before then.
