I got a letter from a college that says Financial Aid Award Notice on the top right..and PRELIMINARY on the top center.

Is this letter guarantees that the money will be given to me? Or is there possibility that they will change their mind and don't give anything at all? p.s. I got accepted from this college and I'm planning to go there..

  1. I think they are planning to give you that award as long as everything is right. No mistakes or no refiling things like that.

  2. i think that is pretty much the amount of aid that you will be receiving.  that is if all the information on the fafsa that you submitted was correct.  if all your info. was correct, you should expect the money in the preliminary award letter.  if you want a more specific answer, contact the department of education.  here is there info. below.

For assistance with problems or difficulties while using FAFSA on the Web, or for specific questions about the FAFSA, call the Federal Student Aid Information Center at 1-800-4-FED-AID (1-800-433-3243) or 1-319-337-5665. If you are hearing-impaired and have questions, contact the TTY line at 1-800-730-8913.

    hope this helps!
