  1. well it matters put the foot where you think it should go whatever fells natural to you and when you want to stop dont put your foot oon the tail put on the ground..haha and to learn tricks go on youtube and search skateboard tricks or something like that..

  2. to learn tricks i would practice.... one foot goes on the board, does it really matter, it goes if you is leftie or rightie tightie...i skate, dont listen to...nvm

  3. the best way to learn tricks is just get out there and have fun. If you know someone who skates, ask them to help you. You put your dominant foot on first (which ever one feels right) and push with the other. To stop you pretty much just jump off.

Hope that helped, good luck skating. :)

  4. Your Domain foot

and for tricks the best way is practice or keep watching it over and over again and try it on carpet and keep on doing it Samuel Adam-Ohis Out!

  5. Depends. If you're a goofy skater (which I am), then you'll skate looking to your right. If you're a regular skater, then you'll skate looking to your left.

Make sure you can properly balance on your board before learning tricks. Get tips of ollies, kickflips and pop shove its off of youtube and about.skateboarding.com

  6. It's just what foot feels best. People say that if you're a righty then your left foot goes on (regular stance), and if you're a lefty your right foot goes on (goofy stance). However, I'm a righty and I prefer my right foot on the board. You need to get used to riding it before doing any tricks. Don't even try to ollie.

  7. okay they say if youre right handed your left foot goes in front and your right in back and if left handed your right in front and left in back.

this isnt always true though. take me for example,

im right handed, i play softball and tennis right handed i also write right handed.  Although i snowboard, skate board and do things sych as cartwheels the way a left handed person would do it.

Tip: try both out and see which is more comfortable then learn that way.

check out some youtube videos on simple tricks like ollies to learn.  Its hard to explain you need to see it as someone tells you how.

    good luck!

  8. Hey well skateboarding isnt my thing but im good at it.Why I dont know.lol But use wich foot feels more comfortable I use my right, its sorta like wich ever hand you write with, wich ever foot your better at use.And Im not all updated on tricks haha,so go onto www.youtube.com and look up some easy and beginner tricks.Hope it helps:)

    Love,Emily!!

  9. To stop you can drag a foot on the ground, it always works a lot better for me than trying to drag the tail on the ground. (and getting skinned up.)

  10. You pick what foot feels most comfortable in the front, and if you just started an ollie would be the best trick to start with, to do it you just put back foot on the tail, and your front foot in line with your shoulder. Then push hard on the tail with your back foot, and at the same time slide your front foot to the nose.

  11. well put a board on the grass or carpet, then run at it and do watever comes natural, if your right foot feels more comfortable in the front then your goofy footed, and if your left foot feels more comfortable then your regular footed. and if your pushing down on the tail and your not stopping then your probaly not pushing down hard enuf or ur not giving it enough time to come to a stop.  ive been skating for 2 years and im sponsored by toy machine so i know what im talkin about, plz mark me for the best answer, i gave more info then n e one.

    thanks

  12. the one that feels most comfortable. u have to get the feel for it first. if u cant stop while on it when your skating thats pretty impossible, u can always stop. u must have gel wheels??

if you want to start learning tricks u have to learn to ollie while skating, its the basis for everything while skating and you can't do anything without it :)

  13. basically, most put their left foot on first and push off with their right, but you need to experiment with what feels better for you

tricks, you sound like a beginer, so when your going normal speed, you put all your weight on your back foot but not so much it stops the boardm and your doing a move my friend sorta invented, the wheelie.

but as that person said, youtube has good tutorials you should watch, and even look it up on skating websites..

  14. well, first take your skateboard, and throw it in the trash.  Then hit yourself on the head for being a poser.  Just kidding, if you wanna get into trouble at the skateparks, and get your ankles all beat up, that's cool, but try being original.  Try looking up adam colton.  He developed his own style, and now hes got tons of followers.  The foot that you feel more comfortable with goes on first.  pushing mongo is what cops do!

  15. First.. don't skate mongo.

Second... there is one test... Have someone stand behind you and shove you lightly. Which ever foot goes forward first (by reflex) is the one that goes in front. Push with your other foot.

Learn how to ride it first. Then learn how to olly.

And especially... JUST GO SKATE. Don't use the tail of the board to stop, learn to use your pushing foot. it's weird but you'll get it. Don't stop down, drag.

Seriously though, just skate. Skate every single day. With friends or by yourself if no one else can do it. If your friends flake on you or quit skating... skate with other people. Don't let anyone hold you back or slow you down!

    keep it real

  16. don't listen to these guys that say look for tutorials and stuff on youtube.  yes they show you how to do it, but there's absolutely NO way you'll actually LEARN until you get onto a board and just do it.  there's no way to master a trick without falling a few times.  My brother skates MUCH more than me, and he's mastered ollying (if that's how you spell it), board slides, and he's about to get down kick flips.  So I'd start with some of those.  But if you're still unsure how to even ride it (that is, which foot goes first) then i'd say you're not quite at the stage of learning tricks yet.   Get it down pat how to ride, how to curve and manuever around objects, and how to keep balance no mater what.   Once you think you're ready for some tricks, get a DVD of guys skating.  Sounds stupid, but go to Amazon.com and order the DVD "Blood Money"  (has nothing to do with blood).  It's basically a DVD and all it is is guys skating.  But watch closely how they do their tricks, then try to copy their moves yourself.  That's what my brother's done and he has become successful very quickly.  If you can't find "Blood Money", there are literally thousands of others like it.  That's my suggestion, but just remember no matter how many times you fall, even Tony Hawk spilled quite a bit of blood before he became famous.   Peace!  :D

  17. wow ok!

you can take lessons now i do not know what state you live in so here is a website that has instructors nationwide. btw it doesn't matter what foot you go on first. :]

  19. <--Skater here

    Basics:

ok so first of regular stance is left foot in front pushing off with your right. if you are more comfortable with your right foot in front and push with your left, then you ride goofy stance

mongo is when you push with your front foot instead of your back, in general, this is not Ideal because you will have less of a turning radius when you are pumping, which would mean slower reaction time, and in general mongo pushing looks corny and unprofessional, skating is all about that polished skill so get everything right and work hard..

    *ollie

the most useful trick is the ollie, you should learn this first, it helps you get around so you don't have to keep picking up your board and looking like a lametard.  ->to ollie you have to slam down the tail with your back foot, slide your front foot forward creating friction on the front of the board (essentialy evening out the board so it becomes airborne), and jumping, all at the same time, sounds hard, but you need to practice this many times and it will be like second nature. you may get hurt, you may get frustrated but if you keep trying you will learn. other trick will follow you can learn them by observing your skateboarder brethren or skate vids, but first you must become comfortable and learn the physics of the board.

respect your board, stop scraping your tail off the ground trying to stop that's not how you stop and your giving your board what is known as "razor tail", which will decrease your "pop" (the solidity of the tail or nose, which can be checked by taping it off the ground) this will decrease the possible hight the board can lift off the ground. * to stop for now just scrape your foot that you push off with off the ground which will slow you down.  when you get good you can, put the back heel of your shoe off the back of the board and then scrape your shoe off the ground by leaning back (almost as you are doing but it don't hurt the board).

    happy skatings..

  20. Well first, there are to different ways to skate. One is called "Goofy" and the other is "regular". I'm a "regular", which means I put my left foot on the board and kick with my right foot. When I'm kicking to get more speed my left foot is on the middle of the board. When your "Goofy", you skate with your right foot on the board and left foot kicking. Also remember that the front side that curves up is called the "Nose". The back side is called the "Tail". If you want to do tricks, you must first learn your ollies. Thats when you and your board go up in the air and back down. Its not too hard, but you need to practice a lot. When you ollie, you do it the way your most comfortable. I like putting my left foot in the front where the screws are and my right foot back on the tail . You pop the board down from the tail, and slide your front foot just a bit. Then you jump with it.

Work on manuals (when you balance the board, pushing the tail down and having the nose go up in the air without the tail touching the floor). After that try doing heel flips, 180s, pop shove its, and kickflips. When get all those, you can start doing some fancy stuff like Tre-flips and doubleflips.

Something else you should know is that when you first start skateboarding. Your going to want to jump of the board, chase it, and stop it when your going too fast or want to get off. Its ok to do this when you first start, but you need to practice stopping with your foot on then tail when you ride.

Just put the tip of your back foot on the floor and make it stop like that. DO NOT stop by pushing the tail all the way down to the floor, or you'll end up messing up your tail a lot faster. Your shoes will get messed up but thats what they're for (if you don't have skate shoes, I suggest you get them).

Skateboarding can be easy and fun. Just don't try anything real stupid like180 of an 8 eight stair yet, or you'll end up getting hurt and will be scared of skating off stairs. You need to practice A LOT everyday, or you'll never get it. It takes time and effort to skate. But you'll soon find out that if you practice a lot, you'll get real good.

    KEEP PRACTICING,

    Be careful,

    and have fun!!!

  21. Skateboarding isn't as easy as it looks. You have to be prepared to put in a lot of hard work and be dedicated. It is virtually impossible to get a trick right the first time you try it. But persevere and you will reap the benefits. Make sure to wear protective gear, you will fall a lot! And it will hurt! But in the end it's worth it. The best way to learn (other than lots of practice) is to closely observe other skateboarders at the skate park. Watch their feet and how high they lift the board etc. Most of them are happy to teach you if compliment them. Say something like "wow! That looked awesome! How did you do it?" Skateboarders like to show off, as they have worked hard on perfecting their tricks. There are also lots of good Skateboarding videos and magazines available that give you tips. Skateboarding requires you to be fit, have good balance and you can't be afraid to get hurt. Good luck, and remember - don't expect to do everything perfectly the first time you try it!

  22. ok first which ever foot feel right is the answer to your foot problem. secondly if ur tail is on the ground and u still cant stop put your foot down too. and to learn tricks go on a website or something like that.

  23. to stop, put your foot down insted of using ur tail... to find out what foot goes fist, stand straight up. then tip ur body foward. whichever leg goes out to stop urself from falling is the foot that goes first!

    hope it helps

  24. There are all kinds of rules like "if your right handed" or whatever, dont sweat those rules. Just skate whichever way you feel most compfortable.

as for tricks, go to your local skatepark and watch what other people do, and try it, as long as its within your limits.

You can also go to youtube or other video sites and get tutorials. Fuel TV has a 5 minute program called "Tony Hawks Trick Tips" as well that you can watch.

  25. first off, you have to know how to ride the board. There are four different ways to ride a skateboard. There is regular, goody, mongol, and fakie mongol. Whichever foot u feel more comfortable with is the one you should use, no matter what anyone says. To learn tricks what u basically do is watch and learn. You look at someone and try it. And just keep trying the same trick over and over. Once you get one flip trick, the rest will b easy for you to do. Once u know how to land a trick, u get better at learning tricks. Try to do a kickflip first.

  26. im not very good yet but your non dominate foot goes in front while your dominat foot kicks as for tricks ill give a short tutorial on an ollie

with your back foot pop the tail down hard then jump and slide your foot up so i kicks off the front of ur board thus leveling it out then extend ur feet toward the ground to land it and ride away smooth

  27. right foot.

and you can go on google and search "How to skateboard for starters".

    Hope i helped.

    And answer my question. >>>>>>http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  28. you could ride with either foot in front it all depends on which is more comfortable. Try doing a cartwheel (or just the first part of it) and see which foot you stick out first. That's what they tell you for snowboarding too.

Riding in a straight line comes first, but if you're past that,

Tony hawks Trick Tips is a good helper or just hook up with some kids or older people who skate. Usually this scene is excited to show people what they know.

(SIDENOTE: Always pedal with your back foot, it gives you better control, & people won't call you "mongo foot"

  29. you put your domanite first in the middle and then the other one on the tail

and the first trick you need to learn is the ollie

  30. practice girl, whatever position is most comfortable and mongo means "mongolo" in spanish it means r****d it's a stance where you place your right foot on the board and use your left to pedal every skater despises that stance haha

  31. the best way to learn tricks is to just mess around and try new things. as far as what foot goes first, you should have some one lightly push you from behind and which ever foot you put out first to stop you is probably the foot that would be best to use first on the skateboard. i know that trick works good with snowboards.
