I was at 93, according to the radar, but i was really going at 87. There were other vehicles going even faster, so please tell me what i should do. Can i fight it? Need advice from someone who has had this or somewhat relatively close experience.

  1. Have you ever been fishing?

You can't catch all the fish in the lake.

    Most get off free.

    Except one.

    You.

You were speeding.  There's really not much you can do about it.

  2. What the other cars were or were not doing makes no difference.  If you were speeding and got a ticket for speeding, you will have to face the judge and tell him your story.  I doubt that you can ever win but if you don't try, I know you can't win.

  3. unfortunately you cannot fight this.  regardless of what the speed of the cars around you are the speed limit is still the posted speed limit.  cops have to give someone a ticket and it just happened to be you

  4. If you have the time to go to court give it a try sometimes the officers don't show up or the judge may at least reduce the fine since you came to court.

  5. You got caught. Pay the fine.

  6. You can go to court, and you can tell the judge "But there were other people out there going faster than I was."  He will ask you 2 things.  "Are any of those people in court today?" and "Were you speeding or not?"  You will answer "no" and "yes".  Then he will find you guilty and fine you.

Best one I ever heard in traffic court, someone trying to be Perry Mason and cross examining the officer.  "Isn't it true that were many people going over the speed limit?"  "Yes, that's true."  "Then why did you pull ME over to give out a ticket."  "Well, really I turned on my red lights, and you pulled over."

And if your speedometer said 87 and the radar said 93, your speedometer is off.  Do you have over sized tires?  You can bet you were doing 93.
