  1. Is there a number or an address that you can contact them? There has to be some kind of information on the notice they gave you.

Just tell them you go to school in Hawaii and you leave the 25th...and that you really need a change of date.

Maybe they can squeeze you in before you go? Probably not..but see if they can do it over thanksgiving break if you come home.

Definatly go to court...if not they will just charge you with X amount of points and some fine.  If you go to court its likely they will reduce the punishment.

  2. Contact the court ASAP. Some advice on how to deal with courts on the blog spot

  3. You have no choice but to go to court if you want to dispute the ticket.  If you are not there on september fourth the judge will issue a warrant for your arrest.  Most states, however, will allow you to go to the court before the scheduled date if you plead guilty.  If you want to do this, go to the court and they will have a window like at the dmv where you can talk to a court worker and work out things like fines, community service, and driver's school, and basically get everything set before you leave.  Just make sure you finish all requirements discussed before you leave so you do not have to go back to virginia to see a judge on progress.  Call your court to get further details as to your options.

  4. just pay the ticket before you go.... that happened to me too. and i tried to get the date changed but the D.A. told me i had to pay it or attend court

  5. You have to pay the fine. The only way to dispute is to physically go to court.

    Does 69/35 mean you were going 69 in a 35??? Holy c**p.

  6. usually w/ traffic tickets if you pay the fine before the date you dont need to attend court.  Check w/ the local DMV and circuit court,  30 over may be reckless endangerment.
