why don't yahoo answers make a section here entitled:atheism?because this section is very disturbing.atheism and other religions are all opposing religions.and all of us are fighting which one are correct.

why don't yahoo answers make a section for you only and then you could ask on that section questions about the faults of other religions?you always seem to dislike other religions.so why not make a whole section for it just for you?

do you agree on what i have to suggest?i may put it on yahoo forumn board discussion...

  1. I disagree. Why don't you go to the mythology section where you belong? They could create a new section for Christians, the hypocrisy section.

This is also spirituality and atheists can be spiritual.

Besides, don't you want a Christian section? Maybe they can make a section for every religion? No, I guess not. There would be thousands of them.

I never said atheism is a religion. I don't remember any atheists saying that. Many unintelligent religious types say it but it's not true.

You also do not need to capitalize the "A" in atheist, but maybe do it for the first word of each sentence...

  2. We like talking about religion.

And I've never heard anyone say atheism is the best religion.

  3. If you aren't happy here you don't need to stay. You might do better in a forum where others believe only as you do, so as not to upset your delicate psyche in any way. Just a suggestion.

EDIT: I see that you are a TC in the pets category. You must be aware, then, that when we asked about God in the cats section they kicked us out.

  4. Atheism is not a religion. *drink*

It's a lack of a belief in a deity. How hard is that? Please pick up a pocket dictionary.

By the way making a section that is based on Science and Evidence actually already exists. We just enjoy the R&S community, so just mind your own and let people *be*. This is a nation of freedom. If we want to be on a religious board...we have the right...and we will.

  5. Atheism is NOT religion.

    Get the definition

    Also, i LIKE this playground.

    Period

  6. atheism is a stance against religion - it is not a religion.

And - how about we move religion and spirituality to mythology and folklore instead of creating a while new section just for atheists? Because it's more pertinent...

  7. Atheism is a religion like "bald" is a hair color.

If you don't like it that people share an opposing view to yours, you are free to quit posting here.

    Buh-bye.

  8. K back your self up. Christianity is one of about half a million denominations of various religions that cover this planet. You make up roughly 30% of the planet. Mostly North America. If you moved to China and said the name "Jesus Christ" and 9 out of 10 people would never have heard that name before.

Why are you assuming that everyone on the planet has to agree with you. If these truly were religious beliefs you thought were true, then why are you so threatened by what a total stranger thinks of them.

You have to realize that 7 out of 10 people will disagree. That is the statical norm for religions. You really should be the shining example of in infallible religion. That is if you think it to be true.

  9. > "you always seem to dislike other religions"

Well, R&S Christians dislike other religions on. R&S Muslims dislike other religions.  It seems every religion dislikes every other religion.

    Atheism isn't a religion.

  10. i HAVE a suggestion for you.  First you need to learn to speak proper English.  Then you need to get that chip off your shoulder.  Religious people are constantly telling everyone how much better than religion and belief system is than that of everyone else.  You think you have the right to do this; but, you don't think anyone else has the right to do the same or to say why we think you are wrong.

Personally, I disagree with most of my fellow Atheists and think that Atheism is a religion.  And certainly the subject of Atheism, and the rejection of religion, belongs within the scope of any discussion on the subject of religion.

  11. Nope, I disagree.

  12. I am not an atheist, but I think that's a stupid idea.

If your religion  and personal beliefs can't stand up to a little questioning and scrutiny then it's not much of a religion and your beliefs are shaky at best.

An unexamined belief or religion effectively becomes accidental atheism on it's own. If you don't examine or understand what you really believe then you're just spouting gibberish with no meaning whatsoever. A machine can do the same.

So, whatever... if all you want is to gush over how great your god is, with those of like mind, then this isn't the place for you. Simply find a place that you can do that instead of trying to "get rid" of those that you have judged to be undesirable.

  13. I have a suggestion. "Got" is over and misused a great deal.

I would just follow them. Occasionally I run into one that still has an open mind.

  14. This is Religion and Spirituality, in Yahoo!Answers. The point is for people to ask questions about those topics, and for other people to answer those questions. Atheists tend to have the correct answers to questions on those topics. If you were to remove atheists from Religion and Spirituality, it would defeat the entire purpose of Y!A R&S.

If you're so afraid of having your beliefs questioned, why not get better beliefs?

"then why are there atheists here saying that Atheism is the best RELIGION?..."

    You just made that up.

  15. Atheism is not a religion.  I have NEVER seen it defined as a religion by any atheist that participates in this venue.  I accept and respect the belief structure of everyone, as long as it does not represent harm.

  16. Are you so insecure in your 'religion' that you can't handle the questions we ask and the answers we provide? This section is for the exchange of ideas. You must be afraid of our ideas.

  17. Though it will never happen...I get your feeling. It is amusing though, that atheists hang here the way they do. If they truly didn't believe, why would this category interest/amuse them so much. They'd just think it was a waste of valuable time...but by the numbers that hang here, you have to wonder if they're still searching but calling themselves atheists. Whatever the reasons they're here, still I'd defend to the death, their right to be here.

  18. Obviously jojo doesn't even know what "religion" is.

If you want to know what Atheism REALLY is, read my bio on my profile.

I'm a Christian by the way. And I semi-disagree with you.

  19. I disagree. First atheist isn't a religion. The definition of religion a strong belief in a supernatural power or powers that control human destiny, atheists don't believe in supernatural power or powers. If your disturbed by it don't go to it.

  20. Well some of us Atheists  have a few suggestions for you too.

The purpose of this site is to ask questions and learn from each other not just proselytize and pat each other on the back because our god is better than your god.

I guess you do realize that this HAS been asked before right?

  21. I thought about this yesterday.. why there are so many atheists in RELIGION & Spirituality......maybe they are spiritual? lol jk.

but really, I would miss the fun debates as well. the only thing I think should be taken somewhere else is the real hard core bashing of both ends..

  22. See little boys and girls, this is the reason why you should never let your mommy and daddy take you out of public school and have your neighbor's Mexican dog groomer homeschool you...

  23. While atheism may not be a "religion," it still takes a great deal of faith to believe that there is no God. There is just as much faith involved with atheism as there is involved with any other religion. For one thing, as no atheist I'm aware of is infinite, and can see everything all over this universe at the same time, and can exist outside of the finite realm, then they can't prove that there isn't a God. But most people feel as though they're masters of their own destinies, that they feel that believing in a God requires them to submit their ultimate authority to someone else, and they are too self-righteous to do so. They argue that we can't prove God's existence, but think about it this way: how do we know, when we see a building, that there is a builder? How do we know that a painting has a painter? We believe some guy who takes credit for it. For all we know, that painting could have just evolved from some paints and a canvas

  24. if you do believe than look at what jesus went through for you im  sure you  can deal with a little aggravation from us, and i thought yall loved to try to teach and spread the word is it not us non-believers who need you most.  but i guess it would be easier to stand up for your religion when nobody questions it.

  25. No atheist thinks atheism is a religion.   Only religious people think that.

We don't need our own section.  We can not watch you from here.

  26. It is open for debate in what you believe if it is evolution or religion as each one shall contradict each other as it has been going on for centuries.

Thus we shall remember the Inquisitions by the monotheism clergy against all other types of religion which started against the Jews in Spain and then against the Muslims.

And then came Darwinism and other related subjects Animism and Magic by E B Tylor and J G Frazer, Religion and Personality by Sigmund Freud Karl Marx Mircea Eliade and the list goes on so there it is not new as those writers lived in the 18, 19 and 20 century and had coped their share of flack from monotheism.

  27. An opposing opinion about religion is still an opinion about religion. When I tried to voice my opposing opinion about religion in the dogs section, they said the dog ate the bible and is now walking backwards.

  28. This is an old suggestion that will go nohwere.

Maybe if you don't like talking with people who disagree with you, you can go to church or something.

  29. Why bother?  You people would just come raid the Atheism section with "Why don't u buhleeve in God?!?!?" questions the same way you do to LGTB.

Edit: You are full of it.  There isn't an atheist alive that ever called atheism a "religion."

  30. Like so many others you seem to have the mistaken belief that atheists cannot be spiritual. Is the current category called "Christian rants"?

    No.

Please don't make me believe that like most theists the best part of you ran down the crack of your momma's *** and became a stain on the sheets.

  31. People who don't believe in God or gods, or who have no religion, might still have an interest or views on religious matters.

What about people who are members of religions, sects, denominations or cults that are opposed to yours? Are you suggesting that they also disappear into a specialised section?

I'd like to make a suggestion now. Let's all be charitable to one another, and share views in the spirit of trying to understand and challenge our viewpoints.
