... and there is a small piece of bone poking through my gum around the outside of where the tooth use to be. Should I be concerned by this, i also have a orthodontist appointment on Aug 20 should I just wait till then to ask him or should i pop into my dentist's office to have him take a look? btw it don't hurt badly I'm just worried about some kind of infection coming up.

  1. it could be a broken part of the tooth you got pulled.

  2. go to the dentist

  3. If it's sharp, call your dentist. It may be a piece of tooth (they sometimes shatter when pulled.) If it's relatively smooth, it may just be your jaw bone. You will get a small hole where the tooth used to be, and that's totally natural and normal. it will eventually (over the course of a few months) fill itself in so you don't have a hole.

If you are at all concerned, call your dentist's office and ask them. that's what you pay them for. don't get advice on here unless it's from a dentist.
