On the ticket he wrote the court date as the day before the ticket was given ie: date of violation 7/29/08. Appear in court on 7/28/08. Is the ticket valid??? What can I do???

  1. yes its valid, call the court house to get the right court date.if you dont, and blow it off because of the typo,a bench warrant will be issued for your arrest.

  2. Take the ticket to the court house. Or police station BUT before youdo make a photo copy of that ticket with a wittnesses signature and date on it...

But go to the court house. Becase the records will still show you were supposed t be in court even if the ticket is wrong and if you dont go they can issue a warrant or decide on the fine and sentencing without your presence which can s***w you over in the long run.

The ticket is valid. It may just be a typo but go tocourt house to clear your name.. They may even drop the ticket due to the error. It can work in your favor.. BEcause the info is incorrect.

    Good luck

  3. You should hope it is void because otherwise you just entered into a contractual agreement to travel backwards in time.  They will write you a new ticket, and knowing CHP (California) they will not serve it properly.  But knowing the courts, they will put a hold on your license regardless.  The way to beat a system that fixes its mistake with more mistakes will end up costing you more than the ticket is worth.
