I left my house for the weekend and didn't turn off my computer..I had downloaded Adobe Reader recently, and my black ms dos screen came up when i installed it that said 1 file copied. I didn't think anything of it until i got home yesterday with a new flashy background that said my computer was infected and 40 pop-up windows in explorer that were prompting me to download spyware blockers. My c drive was gone, Cntrl alt delete had been disabled by the administrator? and pretty much anything in my start menu was gone, sooo after re-installing windows we located two files on my wiped out c drive called "WUON" and "QShoom" i couldn't find anything about them on the internet so we opened WUON and low and behold everything went back to being "infected" over 27 viruses, so i deleted them this time and emptied my recycling bin? anyone else ever have this problem? what did you do?

  1. If you downloaded adobe reader from the adobe website, this shouldn't have happened. As adobe reader ia free and non-dangerious program. Which some computers already have it preinstalled when they get their computers.

I would go here for help, over a year ago they were a big help to me. Getting rid of infection that got on the computer my brother and sister share.

  2. Contact "Geek Squad" in your local area asap! They are usually at the closest Best Buy... Hope you do this and it works

  3. wow  sorry to hear that... is'nt it a shame that people dont have anything else to do but sit around and make viruses to mess  up computers.. did you ever think it was the anti -virus companies that make them so the consumer has to buy their product,???

  4. Try this:

    http://ultcomprepair.blogspot.com/2008/0...

That is an intricate guide to virus removal on computers.  There's a lot to do because a trojan especially will bury itself deep in the computer.  That's why several programs will need to be run to successfully remove the problem.

    Good luck.

  5. Get Avast -anti-virus, it will destroy all trojans, worms, etc. It is the only FREE anti-virus that scans your BIOS and removes any virus etc. hiding, for if you format the computer it will not help some virusses etc. I have the version 4.8 Home Addition.

It is the only antivirus I know that's for FREE FOR EVER.  Go to their website:   www.avast.com.  It gives daily updates as well.

    You wont be dissapointed. .

  6. scan ur computer with an anti-virus software, u can buy one from a local shop but it has a set expiration date. When ur computer starts up, quickly fire F2 to run a setup which will re-format ur hard drive (hdd) and when finished insert the disc the pc came with, (resets ur hdd completely) THATS only if ur whole local disc is infected. its called a trojan horse and its natural if its a bad download or a bad site, can get in and cause very slow framerates and infections

  7. You might want to try Trojan Remover.! It works a lot.! I've tried it many times and it never let me down. Unfortunately it's not free, but it's got a 30 day free trial which has no limitations. Try it.!

    Here's the site = http://www.simplysup.com/

And if that doesn't work there's still malware bytes.!

    Hope I've Helped.! :)

  8. I would re-install the operating system one more time. I would not have opened those suspicious files.Do you have an anti-virus program installed?

If you need one: Avira AntiVir Personal - Free Antivirus

Adobe reader should have not infected your PC. When you mention "black box", were you running a keygen? That could have been the source of the infection.

  9. Download

    malwarebyte's Antimalware

    AVG Freee

    Hijack This

    Spy Sweeper

    Scan and repair

Sounds a lot but these cool uts. should solve the problem.

I too had a similar problem and used the same steps to cure everything.

  10. YES what you need to do is put windows defender I had that on my COmp to but I put that on and never saw an POP up or anything and I am getting my Computer re-imaged for school so I will see how it is

  11. Your virus seem to be a new one.

Someone else have it c:\wuon.exe and report it on 6th Aug 2008

So far, no anti-virus program can detect it.

You better reformat your hard disk and reinstall WIndows.

  12. Ok, first, when you re-install windows, re-partition the hard drive.

    Re-format it.

    THEN reinstall windows.

Be careful of what progrmas you are installing after that and before you copy your data back over, scan it with a good anti-virus/anti-spyware.

AVG free edition and spybot search and destroy would be a very good start.
