I got a virus from limewire ?

Where can I go to get a good "free" anti virus that will REMOVE the virus. I tried a few different ones and they all tell me I have to pay to get the virus removed.

i recently had a virus from windows live.. it sent all my contacts files that had viruses..the msgs were invisible to me..they had to tell me it was doing it.luckily i had mcaffe firewall on and it blocked sotmhing like 30 emails a second it was sending to victims..and it changed my registry **** and all that.. but the best thing ive found free or pay is SPYBOT SEARCH AND DESTROY. get that.. it found like 68 files of malware and trojans and ****.. its totally free and it found ALOT of stuff that my spy sweeper (30$) and my mcaffe (60$ or so) missed.. GL.. just change your passwords from another comp.i used my ps3. untill i got rid of it

PS. its alot better to download the whole albums from torrent sites like piratebay,bitdig,mininova etc.. just downlooad the albums or whatever and virus scan them before you open ALWAYs. just in case. :] cheers

In many cases antivirus programs will NOT remove these as they are malicious codecs, although they may find reference to them and remove it but upon rebooting it's back again.

Try the following free tools, they work:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:

Download, install, update and select Full Scan.

Remove all infections that it finds after scan.

Spybot S&D:

Download, install, update and Immunize, then click 'Check for problems' then when complete select all and then 'Fix Checked'

Spyware Doctor Free Basic Edition - Realtime monitoring:

Its free with Google pack, untick all boxes except Spyware Doctor. Download install, update and run.

SUPERAntiSpyware Free Edition:

Download, install, check for updates, then select Scan your Computer, select your drive and select Perform Complete Scan

VundoFix:

Disconnect your computer from the internet

Run vundo

Restart your computer

Run the tool again to ensure no traces are left.

If there are the reboot into Safe Mode and run FixVundo again.

Note: You should hit all "Repair" buttons even though it may not say "Found!" This will fix a wallpaper hijack everytime if all repair buttons are pressed.

There is a free version of AVG available. It is nearly as good as the paid version.

sucker thats why you don't illegally download music. I'm pretty sure you knew that before you downloaded the program.
