I got an e-amil saiyin I won the yahoo UK lotto of 820,000 pounds. How do I know if it is a scam.?

They are asking for contact information and to keep it quiet so no others will try to claim the money. This was a random drawing of e-mail addresses on the web This notification came to another e-mail address not my yahoo e-mail.

It's a scam. anything that asks for your info is. I get that email about twice a week. Do not fall for it.

Unscrupulous thieves have sent you this email and they are trying to part you from your hard earned cash. They will often ask you to call a premium rate number and keep you holding on whilst you rack up a huge phone bill. They are then paid a large proportion of this phone bill. They may ask you to divulge personal information about yourself or ask for your bank or credit card details. Do not divulge any such information under any circumstances. It is surprising how many innocent victims have been duped by these types of emails. Please remember the thieves who send them are very clever and extremely convincing. I suggest you delete the email and send it into cyberspace.

I can tell you right now, it's a scam.  Yahoo UK does not hold lotteries for random email addresses....nor does ANY site for that matter.  Don't reply, mark the message as spam and delete it.

copy and paste it into google... there are sites set up that will tell you its a scam.. plus if somethings too good to be true... then it probably is

i, d its defnitly  a scam after all surely if you did the uk lotto you never gave a email address then how would they know?? i get a lot of that c**p too and unless someone knocks on my door or rings me i ignore it.........

You can't figure out it is a scam?  Sure, out of the blue somebody is going to tell you you won 820 K pounds and ask you to keep it quiet.  You paid nothing to enter a lotto, you can count on getting nothing out of one if it even existed.
