  1. You will have to do really well for 12th grade to bring your average up.  If you can't get into the college you want right out of High School, go to a community college first, get good grades, and then try to transfer.

  2. If you pick yourself up for 12th grade and do some cool stuff outside of school, you should have a decent chance of making it in to college.

  3. Well it depends. If your GPA is lower than a 2.0, it will be harder to get accepted into a college/university of your choice. My advice is that next year, you should take all regular classes with maybe one honors/AP (if not too difficult of a transition for you) and boost your GPA. Try to get As and Bs in those classes. Then, maybe a good idea is to start a club for kids who are worried that they wont get into college. In that club, all of the kids who have not really been doing to well must be dedicated in trying to boost your GPA together. Make it the #1 club, host many events, and try very hard to stand out as a good example. Maybe take some more extra curriculars if not too much already. Now, for your recommendations, go talk to the principal that your very worried about college and develop a relationship. Show the school that you care, and the principal might even write you a great recommendation. Good Luck, and envy your last year in HS.

  4. I agree with others that you should go to community college for two years, then maybe transfer to a university like a UC. As boring or low-down as community college sounds, the teachers and community you meet there are usually very supportive. The teachers have a lot of time to help you if you need, and the students are interesting, communicative, and have very diverse backgrounds and interests. You can supplement classes with volunteer work in one of your areas of interest.

  5. Depending on what their minimum acceptance is.  You should check that, and then see what you can do for your ACTs.  What you do your freshman year in high school can make or break the rest of your high school career and even your future.  I think it was a really dumb mistake to slack off like that.

  6. What is your GPA? From what you've listed here, I would say you probably are not going to get into the schools you want without going to a community college or a less competitive community college first. If you have over a 3.0, though, you can supplement your grades with extracurricular activities, etc.
