  1. My initial reaction (to the question itself) - It's a political group, what else did you expect?  - tells me that I have, indeed, backed up from immersing myself in this election (that immersion was a goal I set after Bush "won" in 2004 - I refuse to live in fear of mental health issues in the management....

That's very good, because I was feeling a bit used up, so thank you.

Some people cannot read very well anymore, only well-edited copy.  I myself spend more time re-editing for meaning when my attention is drawn to a need for editing for usage.  I am fairly good at editing-on-the-fly, as I was/am dyslexic and was given steady tutoring plus extremely high standards.  (I had a choice - turn into a nutcase or a teacher.  I became a teacher, and re-learning how to be on the student's side all over again was the hardest part.)

So.  Nice, clean copy is welcomed by all and these days a necessity for many.  (And - if you want people to read what you wrote, it is nice to help them out.)

    Is that the issue?

    No.

"..I got a private email...and it hit me at the wrong time...and I posted it in group..."  and  BANG!!

The issue is boundaries.  Yahoo groups - or any groups, really, are not anarchies.  There may be very few and very loose rules, but there has to be some definition of "groupness" for it to BE a group.

You reacted, and the intemperance of that reaction is in your own words - "...it hit me wrong time, as I just woke up& posted it in group & BANG!! iwas banned"

What is your recourse?  Well - you received an initial private email - did you ever reply to that person?  The group isn't an anarchy, you went ballistic at the person who protects the safety and integrity of all group members - and I haven't had my first cup of coffee today, just got up - don't you feel I am being unreasonable with you?

So - your choice - enjoy two lovely friends with whom you CAN share political jokes or do that and apologize for playing the part of a ton of falling bricks.  If you DO get back into the group, you will probably never hear from that person again.

And - if you were in a creative writing class I were teaching, I would just love you to death!   You have stream of consciousness down to an art.

  2. You must have been banned for something.

When you join a group, you have to obey their guidelines.

    If not, you're out.

And Yahoo! can do nothing about it.

  3. Yahoo police of the answers/geocites (personal web-pages) is hit or miss on what they do, they have a set of guidelines but choose to enforce some against some people and not against others.  And posting in the complaint section usually falls on deaf ears or auto response ears.

So I the future, play nice and fair on yahoo, stay in your lanes, obey all rules.

You might be able to report that person for violating rules and get them banned.

  4. Yahoo allows group owners to ban members for any reason. there is no violation of Yahoo's TOS, and many groups can all have different rules. if a group has a rule you cant post in red text, they can ban you for it.

some groups ban for silly reasons, many do not however, there's no appeal process, at all. if you're banned, you're banned.

    sorry
