He called me on Friday last week and i asked if the results where ok as i have been trying for a child for yr and a half but after having the deprovera it was proving hard as nothing returned to normal.

I have been asking for hormone tests for over a year and they said no but finally he agreed and they came back....

He said oh i am awfully sorry Michelle you are going through the menopause i mean for god sake i am 28yrs old.

To say i was upset is an understatement i was devastated to the point of uncontrollable emotion,

Half hour later i started bleeding :) first time in two yrs i was excited i called him back he said that means nothing and the tests had said it all and i was to have bloods done a second time to confirm. I went on Monday and got copy of bloods from nurse for my own records and i said to her what he said and she said that my results where saying i was indeed ovulating and that my fsh level was great and she cant see reason doc would say that to me.

My prolactin level was the only one that was up and this is usually only up if on anti psycotic drugs, stress or a tumour of the pituarity gland if i spelt right lol!!

I cant get over the doc saying what he said though he did say its going sound really unproffessional that he didn`t know what prolactin was but how dare he even come up with idea`s as to wat might be up if he dont know....

I still dont fully understand my results and if levels are as good as nurse thinks but obviously going to my doc is out the question as he is an idiot :@

  1. I hope you switch doctors!!!!

  2. Sounds like you need a new ob/gyn!!!  Also check out arvigomassage.com  It is a type of fertility massage that works! I found out about it while ttc #2. I tried for 18months including acupuncture and 2 rounds of clomid. Then tried maya abdominal massage(mam). I got pregnant within one cycle. I was so impressed with the results that I decided to become a practitioner so I could help other women achieve pregnancy. MAM really does work!!! Please try it.

  3. Honey, you need a new doctor, and fast! He needs to be reported for unsympathetic, unfounded, unresearched, unprofessional behaviour. What a s*****k!

In a recent survey, most doctors said that if they went to a physician and felt like they weren't being listened to properly, they would change physicians. If DOCTORS themselves are saying that, then you should absolutely change form this abusive person to someone who knows what they're talking about.

I'm delighted that your FSH levels are good; did you get the Estradiol test done too? And maybe also ask for a CD21 progesterone test from the new, wonderful doctor that you're going to find :)  Yes, see if you can get an appointment with an RE. Sometimes you need a referral for that, but most insurance companies will cover at least the first visit to an RE and any testing they do as 'medical' rather than 'fertility'.

Oh, and if they say they're booked for 2 months, ask to be put on a cancellation list. This just happened to me; I got an appointment in late September and then yesterday they called me and now I'm going in this Monday!

    Best of luck xoxoxoxox

  4. hun get anothor doc that is one h**l of a mistake to make,

I had a similar problem 7 years ago i had no periods for 6 months went through all the tets i had hot flushes lack of periods and i was told i was going through the menapouse 2 months later i got pregnant and have a 6 year old ,

  5. You need a fertility specialist . . . many doctors (regular gynecologists / primary physicians) are completely out of there realm when dealing with fertility issues.

Your doctors sounds clueless, the nurse seems helpful . . . but she is a nurse and not a doctor.  You also need to factor in that you have been trying to conceive for an extended time . . .you need someone who can help you.

I would request a copy of all of your medical files especially the results of the tests that were just completed and find an RE (Reproductive Endocrinologist) - they are best able to interpret it and come up with a treatment plan.

Best wishes, good luck and baby dust!

  6. I kind of had a similar experience.  After going off of BC pills, I didn't get my period for 2.5 years.  One day I started bleeding, I almost fainted because I was so shocked.  Never ever lose hope!!!  Your body, once given the right tools (meaning eat healthy, take vitamins, have a normal body weight, etc), has the AMAZING capability of restoring itself!  A positive attitude can work wonders too.  Good luck!
