  1. You could always get a new cable thing... Or have the antenna or satellite repositioned.

  2. not all programing or channels are  HD, remember that, so anything less than HD will look like krap..  its kinda like getting a new pair of glasses and you see super clear as you look at a spring garden and then you use the same specs and look at a piece of ****. it will look like krap, the tv is designed for the best picture quality(hd, 720 or 1080p) anything less will show imperfections,, in the meantime just wait til everything goes HD, you will have this problem with all tv services , dish etc

  3. are you sure that you're watching a HD picture? Just because you have the receiver doesn't mean that it's configured properly.

First, remember that the only channels that will give you the picture you're looking for are HD channels. All of the other channels are going to look the same. There's not a whole lot you can do about the SD channels because they're broadcast in HD. BUT, there is hope, because HD is a big thing now and a lot of stations are jumping on the bandwagon. In addition, make sure that you're subscribing to the HD service. Without it, the HD channels are not available.

Now, make sure you have the right cabling. HDMI or COMPOSITE (the red, green, and blue ones for video and yellow and white ones for audio) cables should connect between your TV and receiver. If you don't have them, check the box your receiver came in and, if you don't have any, head down to the electronics store and get one (choose HDMI over composite, but it's always to have both connected so your system has a backup).

Then, make sure that your receiver is configured properly. It's best to consult a users guide if it came with one, or consult your provider for assistance. Make sure your TV is set up properly as well.

If all else fails, consult a professional either at the electronics store or, once again, through your cable's tech support.
