Due to what has to be one of the strangest circumstances I have EVER been involved with, I just so happen to end up SNORTING (breathed in accidentally with a nostril) a single bead/speck of dirty cat litter. DIRTY cat litter. Will those germs do me in?

This is a serious question.

  1. You should be fine the germs in kitty litter and the germs in humans are very different so the germs would just be overcomes by your good germs.

  2. OHH! That's the good sht! What strain was it? Catnip Explosion or Fried Fish 41? Was it pure? Just trying to lighten it up. I don't see why it would do you in if people are capable of inhaling somthing as dangerous as cigs. U might get a little nauseated but thats probably the most that will happen. If anything weird starts happening like u start tripping out than consult a doctor.

  3. Seriously I think you'll live and be fine.  I've been breathing cat litter fumes for years now, worked at vet where we inhaled things and while I'm sure it's not always the best things to inhale, you'll probably sneeze it back out, or blow it out when you blow your nose.

  4. The worst that could happen is contracting toxoplasmosis. A blood test is all it takes to determine that you have it. Most of the time, it wont so any symptoms at all. The only reason you should worry, if you are female and pregnant, if could affect the fetus. Other than that, don't worry.

  5. That's kind of gross, but I wouldn't worry about it. In fact, you're probably more likely to make yourself sick because you BELIEVE it will make you sick than you are to actually get sick from the cat litter, itself. If it really worries you so much, though, you can always call up your local hospital and ask to speak with an advice nurse. They can tell you whether or not something like that is worth the worry.

  6. Probably your lung tissue will form a granuloma around it.

  7. i agree with alljreav. i was looking into what cat p**p germs can do to you and it it said that it can cause toxi- something- plasmosis? but it said that it takes like 24 hours from the time the cat poops to be infectious. after the 24 hour mark you could get that but usually only if your immune system is low or you are pregnant and then you don't get it the baby does. it said that most humans have been exposed to this germ already and if we carry it there is nothing you can do about it. but like if you ever get hiv or luekemia or something that weakens your immune system it could make you sick, but at that point you got bigger issues anyway. for now you should be fine. if you are female and pregnant then you should mention it to your doctor. otherwise, don't worry, just be icked out cuz that it pretty darn gross.
