I got cheated by an agent from CHENNAI , can somebody help me ??

I am really frustrated what has been happened with me in past few days. Please listen to my story an helped me out.

On 26/06/08 ,

I received an email from a person called Vishnu from PRQ Technologies. The following matter was written in the email

“Our Singapore based MNC client located in Delhi, a market leader in Manufacturing and Maintenance Industry, are looking for Engineers and Technicians:

Degree / Diploma holders (Mechanical / Electrical) with 2-8 years experience in Maintenance and Troubleshooting of Gas Copmressors, Turbines, Pumps, Valves, Tanks and plant maintenance.

Job Location : Delhi

Interview Location : Delhi and Mumbai

Date of Interview : 2nd July 2008 at MUMBAI and 3rd July at DELHI

Salary Offered :For Engineers 8 Lakh PA / For Technicians 5 Lakh PA

So in reply to this email I had my resume on 27/06/08.

On 28/06/08 I got another email and your resume have been shortlisted..the content of the email was this.

Dear Sir,

With regards to your profile sent to us, kindly be informed that you have been shortlisted to take up a personal interview with our client M/s ST Engineering Pte Ltd (www.stengg.com) at Delhi as per the following schedule:

Position : Maintenance Engineer / Technician

Date Of Interview : 3.7.2008

Interview time : 9.30 am

So I went for the interview , I got selected by the company personals , and after that the agent in between started playing with me.

He sent me an email on 10/07/08 and the content is as follows.

Hi, you have been selected by our Singapore client, The Employer need some particulars about you, hence please fill up the form and send it to us.

Current Gross Salary Per Month – in Rupees (We need the salary testimonials like salary slip or appointment letter)

Expected Salary Per Month

Notice Period Required

(When you can Join the Duty)

Are You Interested to Work in New Delhi? (This Placement in New Delhi Only)

One Month Salary will be charged as a Service fee from you, Do you agree?

I was shocked when in the email I saw that the agent is asking money, which he never asked me before the interview. It was never told to me before that I have to pay money to the agent if I get selected by the company.

So, since I was desperate to get a job , so I was agreed to pay one salary as the commission to the agent.

After that agent had no contacts with me for so long. I called him one day, he said , we cannot help you , you better join somewhere else…so I started trying somewhere else.

Yesterday , he called me and said ,,you will be given an offer letter by the company , but you will work under his(agent) pay roles , so I yold no to him.

Today he called me and said that the company is calling you to work in Singapore , but since you will be going to Singapore , so please so pay me 1.5 lakh ruppess as my fees.

He sent me an email and the contents of the email are

Mr.Attri, you have been offered by our Singapore Client, Please find here their offer and let us know if you are interested to take the offer.

Benefits

1) Salary 1900 S$ ( INR 60,800 )

2) We will arrange suitable accommodation near to the company

3) Insurance, Medical, Transport will be provided by the company

4) Under S Pass Status Visa

5) 44 Hours You need to working per week

6) Apart from 44 hours will be considered as OT

7) Work Location In Singapore (Not in New Delhi )

8) You will Work under Singapore Technologies

9) Contract Letter will be given to you by our Singapore Client shortly (if you are interested to take the offer only)

10) Your Monthly expenditure will be 15,000 (Fifteen Thousand Rupees for your Accommodation & Food)

Visa Process Method

1) Please scan and send your SSLC / HSC / ITI / Diploma / Degree Photo Copies / Experience Certificates / Passport Copy

2) Please transfer 10,000 (Ten Thousand Rupees Only) as a advance for your visa processing,

Most anyone that I know would have been smart enough not to fall that glaring SCAM.  Consider yourself lucky if the only thing you lose is your deposit.  If it were me, I think I would be very concerned that my identity had been stolen, including social security number and passport information.

If you are a licensed engineer, you should have had enough education and common sense to know that you were being scammed.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news but I don't think any help is available for you other than reporting him to the law enforcement agencies in the city where they are operating.  That may be hard to do because criminals like those usually move around a lot.

well mate, what a sorry state of affairs. Why not u report this con man to the police and take him before the courts to get your money back? Or meet him face to face and demand your money back or drag him publicly by rope to the police after punching him in the nose.. I was once fooled like that and i personally pestered the con man for almost 12 months until he paid me the last penny owed to me bit by bit...

Next time apply direct to Singapore company, no middle man business.
