I got drift wood from a pet store but it floats in my fish tank what do i do

That happens because they are so dry.  You can weigh it down in the tank or as was mentioned, soak it or even boil it.  This will notonly help to leach tannens in the wood but open the wood to allow more water to be absorbed.

You have to put it in a bucket of water with something heavy on top of it and let it soak for a day or four

and if the abouve answer doesn't work (which it prolly will) you could always just tie a weight to the bottom.

drift wood will sink sooner or later if it doesnt i would add aquarium glue to it or suction cups.
