I got enrolled in a independant studies at a charter school?

Question

So i don't understand how this is possible from what i've read independent studies is home schooling so i can i be in both?

its independent studies at a charter school please help because im so confused

Hi--Yes, a charter school is a public school. It is NOT independent study.

A charter school *is* a public school.  You are not homeschooling, which is a private school option in most states.  A charter school (virtual of offline) is doing "public school at home", not homeschooling.

A charter school sets the curriculum you use (or has a list to choose from), sets your school year, and have a certified teacher for oversight.  None of that happens in homeschooling.  In HS'ing the parents (w/ student input) choose a curriculum (or no curriculum), they set the schedule (abiding by your state laws), and they do all the teaching and oversight.
