it depends. have you downloaded anything recently? because if you have it couldh've caused it.

Maybe it didn't install right, but you might also have worms/viruses/spyware, etc. Try scanning for that & see if anything pops up that might be infecting your computer & affecting its performance (i.e., speed).  You might also have lots of junk on your computer that it just can't keep w/ & process quickly enough.  In short, just try cleaning out ur computer.  Not many of us do it like we should. ;P
