My gas line is leaking.... I have to use my car, there's no way I can live without. If i get it fixed, will I get reimbursed for the money I spent by the other party's insurance company? The accident was her fault, and her insurance is paying to have it fixed..

  1. Call your insurance agent. No way anyone can help you here, we won't have your policy in front of us and we aren't licensed insurance agents with your agent's company.

  2. Yes you should get reimbursed since it was the other persons fault.

  3. I'm not an expert on this, but I would suggest you take a tour here, there are expert's tips over there.http://car-insurance.easyideas4u.info/ca...

  4. if they are paying for it, you'd get reimbursed. that's how it works. your insurance company should be handling these questions

  5. It depends on what state you live in, but most likely the other insurance company will pay for it.  You can call her insurance company and ask if they have not called you already.

  6. Most insurance companies have a 1-800  24/7 phone number to call for claims and questions.  You may even have a car rental clause on your policy.  However you MUST deal with your insurance company THEN get an estimate.  If you seek repairs first your insurance company may not approve and pay for it.  However if it is her fault you should have heard quickly from her insurance company.  Did you get her information?  Did she contact them?  Were the police called so that a report can be filed?  This is often needed to PROVE who is at fault.  Follow the steps correctly and you will not have expense - only inconvenience.

  7. her insurers will reimburse you. i work for an insurance broker. the only thing i will tell you is this - when you send a bill into the insurers after having the work done yourself, this is always looked at by an inhouse engineer to confirm that the price you have paid is competitive for the job you have had done. therefore, if you submit a receipt for say £1000 and their garages would have done it for £700 - they can and will only reimburse you the £700. i know it isnt always fair but this is the reasoning behind them using approved garages and to prevent people making money out of claims.

  8. From my experience I have to say you will get reimbursed.

What happen to me about a 2 months ago my car was involve in a accident  I had to pay $400 for parts but i fixed it myself, it took  my insurance a month and a half to send out the money but the gave me $1700 because that was the appraisal of the damage of the truck.

  9. Better save the broken part -- how in the heck did a fuel line get damaged in a collision minor enough to keep driving the car?? Anyway, if the other insurer is paying the bill they should put you in a rental while repairs are being done.
