I got ketchup on a new rug! How do I get it out?

My parents bought a new rug not even a week ago, and I was biting on a Burger King Ketchup packet, and ketchup flew on the rug! How do I get it out without my parents noticing?

try salt and soda water!

Well, I do know that salt with some peroxide and water will definitely get blood out of a carpet so it'll most likely work on ketchup.

Do you have any kind of carpet cleaner?  I would use that.  But first get up as much of the ketchup on possible,  without rubbing it in.  Dab it.  My husband is in the flooring business and that is what he always tells me.  Dab it up dont rub it in.  Good Luck.

Things You’ll Need:

Ammonia

Laundry Detergents

Stain Removers

Dull Knife

Paper Towels

Step1

Remove excess mustard or ketchup by scraping with a dull knife or blotting with paper towels.

Step2

Sponge stain with cool water.

Step3

Gently work a mild detergent into stain.

Step4

Rinse in cool water.

Step5

Apply a laundry stain remover.

Step6

Wash and air dry.

Mix a solution of 1 tbsp. ammonia and 2 cups water if stain persists, and blot on spot.

Try unflavored seltzer.  (In the soda asile)  Pour some on, and blot with a rag
