I got my 1st positive hpt!?

Question

OMG! This is our first month trying and I have PCOS. I was told that it may take awhile to get pregnant and I may need clomid but I just started charting last month. I got a positive hpt this evening. It would be very rare to get a false positive right? I am super excited and we told our immediate family the good news. Of course we won't tell anyone else until confirmed with blood test and after 12 weeks. My chances of this being a real positive is good, right? Even with PCOS? I hadn't heard if PCOS could cause false positives.

A false-positive is alot less possible then a false-negative. Sounds like your pregnant. I'm not sure if pcos can cause a false-positive but I don't think it can. Congratulations.

i know plenty of people who got false negative tests but never a false positive. congrats :)

Fertility drugs are the only thing that will cause a false positive. Congrats!!!

PCOS doesnt cause false positives ...I was diagnosed with PCOS at 17 and was told I wouldnt have children unless I took horomones and or fertility meds so @ 23 I was surprised to find out I was pregnant with no help at all I had already come to terms with not having a baby I have a soon 2 be step son and was perfectly fine with just him......but when we found out I was pregnant I was worried there would be complications due to the PCOS and at 36 wks other than severe morning sickness throughout the 2nd trimester I have had NO problems so good luck and just be sure to inform your ob if they dont already know you have PCOS so they will do a vaginal ultra sound and make sure everything looks good ... The hpt is positive because your body is producing pregnancy hormones and the only way that would happen is if you're pregnant! Congratulations! False positives are almost unheard of. I wish you the best of luck. I know how exciting it is to get a positive pregnancy test! I have a 3 1/2 month old baby boy now, so it was this time last year that I found out I was pregnant.
