Yes, you can definitely get your citizenship back. There is a quota for those categories of applicants....

Please check the link I provided. It's an agency as well as an information portal for all visa matters. In the Contact Us section, there is even a number and an email address you can contact to get proper answers. They've got trained immigration solicitors, etc who will provide you will the legal details of this issue.

Assuming you didn't go through the formal process of renoucing your British citizenship, then you really haven't lost it...just walk in to the consulate w/your birth cert. or old UK passport, you should be fine.

both the US and UK allow dual citizenship, so you may go back to the UK, you have not lost your UK citizenship, which passport do you now have in your possession? it might be a good idea to get your UK passport renewed in case you do not have it ,

if you do not have the UK one? you can get it renewed in the US, contact the UK embassy:

click on your state, and make your request from there,
