I've been wearing glasses for about a year now and I switched to contacts this evening. When I tried it there, it didn't really hurt but then I applied them at home, they stinged my eyes for about 5 minutes. And then it felt like I had something in my eye for a half hour. I understand this is normal but what can I do to minimize the pain? How long would it take for my eyes to get used to it?

Any tips and tricks on removing and applying the lenses will be very helpful. I'll be grateful to you if you could explain to me the whole procedure step by step. I know how to do it but I'd be great if I could know some tips and advice from you all.

Thankyou! :)

  1. Make sure your hands are clean... this can be why they sting, they should not be felt after a few minutes of wearing them, even in the begining, especially since they are soft ones..

Make sure they are rinsed in the solution before you put hem in, sometimes little bits of dust or dirt get on them and you can't see it but can feel it when it is in your eye.

It takes practice and you will adjust!
