  1. Guinea pigs take a while to get accustomed to new surroundings as they are very timid creatures.  Once it starts to warm up to you then it will probably start acting more normal.  Either way it is still a good idea to take it to the vet to get checked up and make sure everything is alright.

  2. it takes them a little bit to get to know you.they need to get used to there new surroundings

    Good Luck!

  3. It will take a while for your guinea pig to settle into her new home so its normal for your guinea pig to behave like this.

Just give it a week or so and your guinea pig should be comfortably accoustumed to her new home

    Hope this helps

  4. it total normal

when you first get your guinea pig

cuzz there just getting used to things

  5. Well guinea Pigs may take a little longer to get used to its new surroundings......

The Guinea Pig came from the pet store and was probably there for a while and then to come somewhere else and get all this attention from you is probably a shock to it.

This phase will NOT last long even though it may seem like it

    HOPE THIS HELPS,

    -Amanda

  6. Yes it is completely normal, they act like that usually the first FEW weeks.  Every time you walk by her cage, talk to her in a very soothing voice.  Also, when you hold her, pet her with your chin, it sounds retarded, but it works for mine!

  7. just give it awhile to get used to its surrondings

  8. purring is perfectly fine, i call it bubbling cuz it sounds like there bubbling underwater, make sure ur giving it  variety of food, like alfalfa, pellets, veggies, apples, and it helps if the pellets are mixed with a little bit of goodies in the bag, but dont have sunflower seeds in them my guinea pig always chokes on them, its normal for them to run around the cage, like doing laps to exercise, make sure u give them clean water everyday, that will help and make sure u arent using cedar bedding, the aroma from it is harsh on there lungs and it causes them to get sick if u have any other questions u can email me at Bitter_sweet_723@yahoo.com

  9. well i am  guessing that youve tryed feeding them some veggies and have rejected it. dont worry that normal. their probably not use to that food yet because they wornt feed that kind of viggies where ever you bought them.

the'll come around and start recognizing your their new food.

  10. Last year when I got my guinea pig, it was the same way.. Purring is very normal 2.. But if it doesnt eat for like a week or so, you might want to try different foods. Also refresh its water at least twice a day...

  11. She's stressed. Take your time getting to know her and give her a daily piece of her favorite fruit (discover it if needed). Don't try and force the piggy to like you it'll stress them out more. purring is good, crackling (or smacking their teeth together repeatedly) is a warning to get away. If she squeals she may want something. Once you develope a good bond/friendship with her you can teach her tricks such as giving kisses on command. Good luck.

  12. SHE WAS JUST GETTING USED TO HER NEW HOME.
