I got my lip pierced on wed.. ?

Question

how long is it going to be swollen for? how can i bring the swelling down?

and i have like a little white spot on my lip where the piercing comes out on the outter side of my lip, is it normal to have that?

also whats the best thing to clean it with?

It'll be swollen for about a week or so & keep going down. But ice on it every few hours & it should make it go down a bit.

The white spot is normal to. It'll go away when the piercing is healed.

Clean it with ocean spray salt water stuff. I'm not sure what it's called but if you look it up it's in a blue spray bottle with a white cap & a mermaid on it. They should of given cleaning supplies if you got it professionally done though...

its gunna be swollen for about 5-7days, the white cartilage is normal and will go away once healed... you should go buy H2Ocean its purifed salt water. you can get it at a piercing shop or even some place like spencer's.

It will be swollen for around about a week and a half but the swelling will go down gradually. For a couple of weeks after the initial piercing swelling can go up and down so make sure you stick to the cleaning routine for a while to prevent infection. The best way to reduce swelling is to take Ibuprofen (an anti-inflammatory which reduces pain and redness aswell as swelling) and to chew ice (keeps the inside of your mouth cool) and also hold ice against the piercing to numb it if it's irritating you.

The little white spot on your lip is nothing unusual, it happens on a lot of piercings. However if it starts to go yellow/greenish, gets painful or bigger, i advise you go back to the place you got the piercing and ask for their suggestion.

Personally, i choose to use cotton buds dipped in a salt&water solution to clean piercings. It's quick, easy and efficient.

It could be swollen anywhere from 2-4 weeks depending on how you take care of it. The best thing to clean it with is a sea salt solution soak 2-3 times a day for 5-15 mins (1/8-1/4 tsp non iodized sea salt dissolved in 8 oz distilled or bottled water)

ok i dont know what the girl above me is talking about the ocean spray stuff i mean i know what it is.. but you DONT use that on your LIP! (ive had both sides of my lip done and a monroe)...or any other piercing dealing with the mouth area!

you use listerine or mouthwash! it kills all the bacteria in your mouth, and just swish it around focusing on the lip area!... then wipe the outside with a q-tip and some alcohol... it helps prevent the chance of any infection... thats what i do... and my swelling only lasts about 2  days IF that!... and ive NEVER gotten an infection!

just put some ice on it, eat some ice cream, idk.
