It swelled up to twice its size and the pain is gone but the swelling has not. Should I take the piercing out? Will my tragus eventually go back to normal size?

  1. Swelling is normal for a new piercing, it's good that you're not in pain though. Take some Ibuprofen (motrin, advil) and it helps the swelling go down. I doubt that it's infected, plus you didn't mention any puss or anything so i'm sure it's not. If it really starts bothering you, go see your piercer. I have mine pierced too, and i love it :)

    GOOD LUCK!

  2. leave it in, its still a fresh piercing, it will go down in a couple of weeks, just keep cleaning it the way your supposed to.

  3. It might be infected, so it would be a wise idea to take it out and if the swelling doesn't go down see the person who pierced it for you and ask them if its normal.

  4. You should probably go to where you got it pierced and ask or see a doctor.

  5. I agree. Get it checked out. First by the piercer, and then maybe they will recommend seeing a doctor or not. In the meantime, clean it with a solution of 1/4 tsp of sea salt and 8 ounces of really warm distilled or bottled water. I hope it gets better, because that's a sweet piercing.

  6. Like said in some of the answers:

    your piercing is still fresh.

Some of mine didn't stop swelling for almost a month.

It really all depends on how your body takes it.

If you would like, You can get miracle oil or lavendar on it.

That stuff keeps you from developing a keloid. (scar tissue that develops around tragus' quite often!)

    Don't stress a keloid though.

With good cleaning procedures, youll be fine :]
