Today I went to the mall with my family and this woman came up to my parents and told them that I was lovely and complimented me and said that I should go to this one casual TV show audition where you have to like say a couple lines from a commercial and gave us a card with all the information on it. She said that it could pay for my college tuition, etc. Is this a hoax?

  1. it sure sounds like it

  2. Just one thing

Call before just showing up at an "audition"

and ask if there are any costs/fees involved,

if they want any $ up front, forget it!

  3. I think its worth a shot. She said it was a casual audition and she gave you her card, so you can contact her with any questions you might have, your parents can speak too (because they should be involved in your career). I think its a good idea because some famous actors got discovered by a talent scout at the mall. Look at kyle massey from that's so raven or brenda song from the suite life I read on wikipedia they were scouted by a talent scout at a mall so just try it. Just to be safe bring your parents read everything carefully and dont pay for anything you know your not supposed to. I think its worth a try, what could it hurtwho know you may have actually been discovered and this could start your career.              Look up kyle massey and brenda song in wikipedia I want to see for yourself.

    I hope this helps

  4. YES!!!!

  5. prolly not.

i would suggest going with an adult though

    dont give them ANY money

and it prolly wont pay for ur tuition though

  6. Sure sounds like it. I'll bet you anything there's a fee for entrance, a fee for auditioning, a fee to judge your performance, and so on. Breaking into TV isn't this easy.

  7. all mall scouts are a scam they arent just going to say your pretty you must be really talented and experienced right?? ok sign up! thats not how it works agents dont really "scout" anymore because they already have so much talent coming through the mail every day

  8. It does sound a bit odd, but nothing ventured nothing gained. I'd say go ahead and check it out. If they try to sell you anything, including trying to refer you to any sort of acting classes or to photographers to do headshots, they're likely just trying to scam you.
