It now turns out his insurance is not valid and I'm not sure how to pursue this. He will not answer his "so called" number and I need to get my car fixed asap! I have delayed medical asst. because of this but have had back and head pain the last 4 days....any suggestions?

  1. In jersey PIP personal inj proptection follows the insured from whereever or whoever gets huret by there insurance company so I do not think you need to weait to find out fromhim about his insurance usually you have 250000 worht of med expense coverage.

  2. Report the claim to your insurance company.  If you have Collision coverage, they will pay for the damage less your deductible, and pursue this guy directly.  If you do not have collision coverage, file a small claims action against him.  He may or may not show up for the hearing, and he may or may not pay you.

If you were injured, you should not be waiting to seek medical attention.  Go to the doctor or ER.  Let your insurance company know that the other party may be uninsured.  File an Uninsured Motorist claim.  Your insurance company will let you know if he is in fact uninsured.

If you have medical payment coverage or PIP coverage on your policy either one of these will pay for your medical expenses.

  3. He left an INJURY accident.

Did you write down his TAG number?

See and record his Drivers License info?

Turn it all over to the cops.

You can still seek medical attention, the bills will have to be deterred until he pays.

But its highly doubtful your injuries are extensive enough to warrant any attention other than some Tylenol.

I'm a racer, and have rolled cars at 120 mph without a scratch or any soreness that Tylenol couldn't take care of.

  4. Well that explains why he left before the police showed up.  Hopefully you still had a report filed.  This guy is probably uninsured.  If you have uninsured motorist coverage, you may have to use it.  Your insurance compnay can then pursue this guy for you.
