The people who hit me have no insurance. I have a 2001 Honda Accord LX. I need a new bumper and a new light.

  1. Get an estmate from a body shop and send them a bill.

  2. perhaps.  but no lower.  i would think somewhere between $500-$750.

  3. I had my BMW 335i rear ended after I had it for only two days! It cost me $800. Don't think it cost more because it was a BMW, they're all plastic no matter the make. The funny thing was, you couldn't even tell it was hit. I had to replace the energy absorbing foam underneath.

  4. You need to take it to a body shop and have it estimated,  they might have done more damagee than you know. don't be in any hurry to settle. if they would have had insurance you could get a lot more.

  5. Thats a rip. The light you could buy on ebay for cheap. And have them put it on. The bumper u may have someone do. But if u get the light it will probally be cheaper.

  6. If they're uninsured that might be all you get from them, but in reality it will cost more ot fix it, unless you use cheap parts and do all the work yourself.

  7. I'd have it looked at and get a estimate(usually free). Repair cost have a way of adding up fast. Just so you know what your looking at. No matter what you want to do from there it's nice to know. I got lightly rear ended in stop and go traffic. Could hardly see any damge by quickly looking at it. It cost 1800.00 to fix. Luckly we both insurance with the same co.

  8. more, to do it right close to 1100 or so

  9. The price is too low. Have two estimates before accepting  CASH for the repairs.  I had a rear facia (bumper) panel that needed a 4" x 4" paint scratch repaired and the the estimate was for $420 back in 2003.

  10. If they didn't have insurance, they shouldn't have been driving on the road.  It's illegal to drive without it.

Even at an auto salvage yard, those parts don't come dirt cheap (especially the light).  If you install the parts yourself, $500 should do it.

  11. It's a fair price. Though it could be done for less if you fixed it yourself.

I can find an aftermarket bumper and a SET of lights for under $350 all together and you could probably find new OEM parts for $300 or less and if you found your bumper and lights in a junkyard it would cost even less.

So it really isn't fair to me because I do my own labor and I don't even have to pay myself.

  12. Here in TN the would cost about 150.00  the rest would be labour, if you shop around you can find better cash price.
