  1. try this site http://www.coinsheetlinks.com/ it may point u in the right direction or this one http://www.pandausa.com/

  2. For world coins, the most comprehensive website I've seen is:

    http://worldcoingallery.com/

Regarding values of world coins, the old school approach is often the most effective: visit a local library and look up your coins in the Standard Catalog of World Coins, by Krause and Mishler.

You can use your local library's or library system's online catalog to find out which branch carries this book, or simply call the library to ask.  In our area of the US, about half of our local libraries have a copy, in their reference section.

The Standard Catalog is a huge, phone-book-sized catalog of world coins, organized by countries' current names by A-Z, and within each country by denomination, and then by date.  In the beginning of the book, there are some aids to finding coins by country - some pictures of features commonly found on coins from the German state of Bavaria, for example, or from Saudi Arabia or Thailand.  There are editions of the Standard Catalog for the 20th Century (1900s), 19th Century (1800s), and earlier, although most of the coins you'll likely encounter will be from the 1900s.  The Catalog is revised annually, so newer catalogs will have more current pricing, but even a ten-year-old catalog can help you identify a coin and get some sense of whether it's rare or common.

The book also gives approximate retail prices, the kind that you'd pay if you were buying the coins from a dealer.  To get 'real world' prices, one of the best ways is, once you've identified a coin, to check the prices of completed auctions on eBay.

You can search the titles of all eBay auctions that completed within the last 15 days via this link:

Be sure to search within the "Coins & Paper Money" category.  If for any reason the above link might 'break, you can also try this help page:

eBay has such an active marketplace for coins and currency that often you can find recent pricing for nearly any relatively common world coin there, and sometimes for many rare coins as well:

  3. For identification of world coins (non-US) look at Krause; for pricing check on eBay. US coin retail prices are at PCGS, plus it's a good site for identification of US coins.
