I got some home work in which i have to write any 10 ways by which we can conserve electricity ..pls help?

hmm.. turn down the heater a degree or two in the winter and the air up in the summer, (it wont be as warm in the winter or as cool in the summer, but it helps)

use less hot water

switch to fluorescent light bulbs

turn lights / electronics off when not in use

etc etc =)

In the warm months do more cooking out side on the grill instead of using the oven. because the oven will make your kitchen hotter and put more strain on the air conditioning.

Decide what you want to eat before opening the refridgerator or freezer.  Leaving it open while trying to decide causes the cold air to escape, and more energy is needed to keep the food cold.

Turn off lights or appliances that you aren't using.

Switch incandescent light bulbs to fluorescent bulbs.

Replace old electrical appliances with newer, more efficient ones that conform to Energy Star standards.

Open windows to regulate the temperature in the home rather than using the heater or air conditioner.
