Question:

I got stung by a bee, then I got hives, and now I have ringworm? Is it all related or did I never have hives?

I got stung on the wrist by a bee a little more than three weeks ago. The day after that my arm and hand that got stung swelled up like a balloon. After that the swelling in my arm started going down, but I started getting itchy bumps all over my head. Then part of my lip swelled up for a day and I started getting large red itchy patches on random parts of my body that I took for being hives. Also different parts of my body would get painfully sore for periods of time (usually no longer than a day), especially my hands and feet.

This has been going on for the last three weeks, some days are worse off than others (although my the itchy bumps on my head never seem to go away.) I've been taking benadryl but I'm not sure if its helping at all.

Now today I woke up with very itchy small welts on my arms and wrists. I went to the pharmacy and the pharmacist says that I have ring worm and gave me a cream to help with it.

I'm not sure what to do now. I got the cream but my head still itches and the cream isn't for the head. Are all of these related? Do you think I ever had hives or had ringworm this whole time? Should I goo see a doctor? I don't have a regular doctor or health insurance, so seeing a doctor is hard on me. Please help I'm not sure what I should do!

  1. The swelling is caused by the bee sting. The itchy bumps are your allergic reactions to the toxing in the skin. The ringworm was caused by something else. A ringworm is a fungus that are best grown in moist skin away from light. It's probably not a ringworm.

  2. Hi Capone,

This will help cure the ringworms for sure http://tinyurl.com/RingWormCure.

As for the bee sting sounds like you might had also had an allergic reaction. But if you do get worse you need to see a doc, no way around it.

    Good luck

  3. dang i hope i don't get stung by nothin

  4. Any other problems such as:

    # diarrhea

    # faintness

    # dizziness

    # confusion

    # go into shock

    # facial swelling

    # rapid heart rate

    # breathing difficulty

    # abdominal pain/cramps

    # nausea, cramps and vomiting

If so, you do need medical attention.

The hives part does not sound out of line with a mild allergy to bee stings. These typically go away on their own.  And Benedryl is in line with recommendation.

The ring worm antifungal part is a head scratcher.
