  1. The white tiger is simply a genetic mutation of the tiger. Now,  I'm not usually all panicky about endangered species, because it seems like any animal that has numbers less than about 100,000 is endangered these days. Tigers truly are endangered, and I think it's because of habitat being turned into farmland (I can't believe I'm actually saying this).

So basically, the fate of the white tiger depends solely on the fate of every other tiger.

As for characteristics, they are an off-white color, and many of them have blue eyes. Other than that, they are the same as regular tigers.

  2. There are no know white tigers in the wild.  In fact, most of the white tigers alive today are decended from a single female.  The white coloration is the result of inbreeding.

Tigers are not endangered as they breed very well in captivity.  They are becoming rare in the wild, however, due to competition for habitat with humans.

  3. they are probably the same as regular tigers just white
