What can I do to get a better signal? I have to say, the picture is excellent on the 3 channels I am getting but they pixelate and stutter like mad. The converter box has a selection screen in the menu options that is an antenna signal strength meter. The best I get is 30% signal. There must be a better antenna besides rabbit ears but why should everyone without cable have to get a "NASA CONTROL CENTER" in their back yard to pick up all the local stations?

  1. This has been a common complaint now that most people have been getting a digital receiver box in anticipation of U.S. tv signals going digital in 2009.

Analog was not as clear, but you could pick up more stations.  The common assumption is that many over-the-air stations will boost their transmitting power a bit to offset this once they no longer have to dedicate that power to keeping the analog signal around too.

So you can wait for OTA stations to boost the signal sometime in 2009, or spring for the fancy digital antennae available right now.

  2. I'm with u. i just posted my problem w digital vs analog reception. i have a one year old LCD tv w built in digital tuner w rabbit ears and the reception is rarely smooth throughout the one hour program i am watching on ABC, CBS, etc. This whole analog thing is starting to sound like a cable, satellite, etc. conspiracy.
