I got the Gardasil shot & I think I might be allergic to one of the ingredients.?

I'm allergic to Sulfa, and Gardasil has amorphous aluminum hydroxyphosphate sulfate.

Nothing has happened yet... but it might not be in the first shot.

What should I do??? I'm going to Call my doctor on Monday... But might the two have something in common?

Is amorphous aluminum hydroxyphosphate sulfate the same as sulfa, or a branch off of it... or something?

  1. i'm not quite sure, though i know that when i got the first of those three i nearly passed out, i'm not that great when it comes to shots, if you start to get hives or however you react to sulfa, get o the docs emidiatly, thats all i can say, sorry i couldn't be more of  a help

  2. Sulfa is short for sulfonamide, which is NOT the same as sulfate.  I think you will be ok, but you can still call your doctor if you would feel more comfortable with that.  The most common vaccine allergy I can think of would be related to an egg allergy since some vaccines are developed in eggs.

  3. Im allergic to Sulfa too.

I recieved my first shot and nothing has happened to me.

Sulfa and Sulfur are too different thing.

So the Aluminum Hydroxyphosphate Sulfate, may branch off the Sulfur, rather than the Sulfa.
