  1. i was on the depo shot. I dont really recommend it. I was only on it once but i didnt like it. I had spotting also on and off more around the time when i was supposed to get my period but then it stops. and when its over expect to be super moody atleast i was and i never am even when on my period. So becarefull dont use it for more than two years it can have a real bad effect on your bones i heard of people who got arthrites thats why i decided not to get it again.

  2. It's not uncommon, especially for the first couple of weeks.  If it's really heavy or if it's really bothering you, talk to your doctor about other birth control options.  For most women, the bleeding goes away after the first series of shots.

  3. When I started on depo I had my period for 14 weeks straight. Not heavy like a normal period, but enough that I always had to use a tampon or pad.

My doc told me it can take 6 months or so for the body to adjust, so I had my second shot. Around a week after my second shot I stopped bleeding, and it was all good from there with no period at all.

My last shot was a little late and I started bleeding the day I went for my needle. So worried that I was going to go through it all again but it stopped after 3 days.

I got my period for the first time in just under a year a few weeks ago and it was very light and only lasted 4 days.

My first thoughts after getting depo was that it was horrible, a huge mistake and not for me. Now I think it's great.

Try shower s*x if you are worried about bleeding...any mess is washed away before you see it.

My hubby had no problems with that side of it, but I felt better in the shower...if you can't see it, it doesn't exist type deal lol

  4. yes it should be light,if not call ur DR, it happened to my girl friend,  but now i dont have to use condoms

  5. Yes, its totally normal. Your body will regulate itself again soon...

  6. was this your first shot? if it was then it is unlikely that the hormone is causing your bleeding because it takes about a month for it to start actually having an effect. i would say that if they didn't tell you when you got the shot you should expect your period to be out of wack for about 4 months. the first shot throws it off the second one straightens it out so in about 5 months you should start having fewer periods or they could stop all together
