Question:

I got the rebuilt carb installed on the yamaha 650 jet ski and got the primer installed properely put the ski?

in the water and it starts great but it bogs out when i hit it ....its not getting the proper rpm's ...you guys have got me so close with all ur help and my jet ski is so close to working i could really use some suggestions on this...i cant really afford the cost of a technician looking at it can u suggest anything???

  1. OK, this is beyond diagnosing over the net.  If you can afford to put fuel in that gas guzzling pwc, you can afford to take to a shop.

I also agree with jim s, configuring your carb must be done with with a professional who knows how to set it correctly.  You simply don't have the experience or the information to do it correctly.  Additionally, I believe the idle and high speed throttle settings have to be done under a load or under certain RPM ranges specified by OEM requirements.

    Well look on the bright side by taking it in to get the carb configed and serviced, if you've done the carb and primer installation right, you've saved yourself some labor costs.  If not, well you'll be doing the smart thing in getting it done right.

    You gotta pay to play for boats and PWC's.  Even a penny pinching person like me can't get around that.

  3. the carb itself may need tuned to your jetski engine[air/fuel ratio etc]...it may also be a spark plug braking down or a faulty coil...
