  1. getting braces doesnt make your tongue bigger dummy

  2. what new braces? there are only a couple types of orthodontic braces.

  3. drink ensure. they are great for people who want to GAIN weight

  4. Thats normal. Just wait until you get your wisdom teeth out XD

In a week you'll be fine and for now just eat some ice cream and have a smoothie.

Your tounge just isn't used to havng all that metel and I bet your lips don't over them nicely either. Dont sweat it, I got my braces off today and my tounge is all out of wack too, just minus the pain and metel mouth.

  5. I had the same problem, I lost five pounds in one week when I first got my braces.  Tomato soup is good because there is NO chewing involved.  Soupy mashed potatoes, pudding, ice cream, slim-fast, ensure, boost are all good as well.  Over cooked pastas and mac & cheese are really good after you can chew a little better.  Chicken broth is okay, but it is really salty.  You could also try drinking lots of gatorade and juices.  I had several people recommend using a blender and liquefying the food, but I could not bring myself to do it.  It took me one month to the day of getting my braces on before I could eat cereal again.  If you can stand the sticky factor, a spoonful of peanut butter is a good way to still get protein.

  6. i just got braces last month. eat soup! i weigh 60 pounds and i am 12 years old and in the 7th grade.

  7. ohh man i had that same thing it is really hard to swallow i no i just swallowed alot so my tongue got used 2 it being there and then i ate soup and macaroni(i swallow it hole it works great if its a little watery)

  8. i had what you are talking about...its called an Expander...it expands your top part of your jaw or the roof of your mouth so you will have room for all of you teeth...the best thing to do is pick the food and stick it in the back of your mouth...and keep a tooth pick or something like that handy because food likes to get stuck in there...after about a week you will get used to it and your tongue wont feel so huge...and it feels really weird after you get it off...

  9. I had braces for four years, and it was a pain in the butt, i know what you are going through.

You should eat soup, spagetti'os, ramen, or anything of the gooey variety.

also try blending smoothies and stuff to get your vitamins in a liquid form.
