I got this car from this guy he wanted 1200 4 it i was paying him lil at a time i got the car but no title ?

so i was goin to give him the last of the money so he give me a title to look at it was not the title to that car now he took the plate's off the car now i can drive it come to find out the car not in his name im lost

Firstly ... sorry to hear that you had to learn this lesson the hard way.   Any time that you purchase a vehicle, you need to see that title first, making sure that it is a clean title, and if you are going to be purchasing the vehicle in payments, ensure that you receive the title with a lien statement on it.

In your case, the only thing that you can do now is take him through civil court if he doesn't give your money back.  You also need to find the true owners of the car and let them know what is going on.
