I got this virus that gives u fake virus scan messages and cant be deleted?

so i get this virus that installed this "antivirus XP08" that keeps tellin me that it has detected like 2000 viruses on my pc and wants me to "pay" and register the scan so it can delete these viruses, yea right I'm that stupid, but the big problem is i cant delete or remove it from my pc and my macoffee keeps tellin me:FakeAlert-AQ, its drivin me crazy, how do i remove this SHITTT??????

Download and run free A Squared online malware scan and removal it will take awhile to run, also Spybot

do you get pop ups claiming that your computer is at risk?

those are called "Messenger Spam" ! to stop messenger spam:

open start page,open administrative tools,open services

these services are in alphabetical order.you need to close two:

a] Alerter

b] Messenger

NOT related to MSN messenger or any other instant messenger

right click each service,click properties,from drop down menu,select disable

another method to deal with those that get through is to copy the pop up address at the top of the pop up or pop under [ starts up AFTER you close a window ]

open internet options [ start--control panel--internet options ]

open content tab,open settings,open enable,enter address,click never

close

open Advanced tab: check to see if pop up blocker is checked,close

reboot

That is defently a virus go get windows live onecare safty scanner and remove it or get avg which is free and remove or or spyware claster which will remove them if there trogens or spywares or adwares i think aswell or you can try kaspersky internet secruity its really good

It is a rogue anti-spyware program similar to the well known XP Antivirus rogue application.

Download and install SmitfraudFix

After you download and install restart your PC in safe mode with networking

Double-click on the SmitfraudFix.exe icon then follow the screen instructions. Option #2 should be selected in this case.

When you are prompted with “Do you want to clean the registry ?”, simply answer “Y”.

While in safe mode you should download, install and run a full scan with Malwarebytes

sounds like extortion!  I almost got one of those once but my webroot spysweeper/antivirus blocked it before it could get in and when I ran a sweep it ranked a 3 out of 4 on the bad news scale, this pc runs perfect and always has thanks to webroot, I also downloaded to my brothers pc as he had 3 or 4 of those things plus many others , he has 4 kids go figure! it took care of it in one sweep, but the sweep took 3 hrs!!! 3 downloads $50 1 for $30 but it's worth it in the long run, the free stuff I cant help you with sorry I only use the best, lose the McAfee

I had a couple of those. Windows defender caught one. The other was, I believe, caught by either Ad-aware or  Norman. All of these are free.

oh yeah i got that once , i felt lazy at the time so instead of doing a bunch of stuff i just saved all my files on a few empty usb drives i had lying around and i just formatted the drive , after that i reinstalled all the files and that was the end of that
