I got this weird bruise?

I got this weird bruise once, and the reason for it perplexes me to this day. A few years ago, I got my blood taken, and as my arm was healing, I had a very strange bruise of a perfectly checkered pattern. I mean, it looked exactly like a mini purple checkerboard. I thought at first that it might have been the gauze, but that did not make sense to me. I told my mom, and she said "No, it wasn't the gauze." She told me of a time when she hit her leg on a table, and she had gotten a perfectly checkered purple bruise. (And the table wasn't checkered!) Has anyone else had this happen? Or does anyone know anything about strange bruises?

I've never heard of that happening before. You should take a picture next time and send it to a medical journal.
