I got two positives and one negative test results?

I took two home pregnancy tests, and then a urine test at the doctor. The home tests said I was pregnant, the one at the doctor said I wasn't. Why would this be? Do you think I really am pregnant?

  1. The same thing happened to me, but I took maybe 20 tests before I went to my Dr. :) When I went to the Dr, he gave me a urine test and it was negative. He then sent me for blood work, which confirmed my pregnancy. Blood work is the most accurate because it is done for the HCG. Anyhow, I think you are pregnant...good luck and congratulations :)

  2. If you had a positive test you are pregnant (unless taking medication that contains HCG, the pregnancy hormone). When you go to the doctor for confirmation you should always get a blood test, much more accurate. If you drank a lot prior to testing it could result in a negative because it waters down the urine, making harder to detect the HCG. That is why many tests recommend first morning urine because it is concentrated. Go back to the doctor and request a blood test, the results will then be positive. Congrats!
